Apple Fitness+ Introduces New ‘Collections’ Feature and ‘Time to Run’ series

Beginning January 10, Apple Fitness+ will introduce a new “Collections” feature as well as a new “Time to Run” series. Collections are a curated set of workouts and meditations from the Fitness+ library that are grouped together to assist users to achieve a specific objective. The functionality uses roughly 2,000 workouts to provide users with a new method to stay inspired as they start their next activity.

Apple claims that Collections will provide users with a suggested training schedule to assist them in making specific training decisions. “30-Day Core Challenge,” “Improve Your Posture with Pilates,” “Perfect Your Yoga Balance Poses,” “Run Your First 5K,” “Strengthen Your Back, Strech Your Hips,” and “Wind Down for a Better Bedtime” are the six Collections that will be offered at launch.

Apple’s new “Time to run” series is a follow-up to the company’s “Time to Walk” feature, which debuted last year. The new series is described as an audio running experience that will help customers train to become more consistent and better runners, according to the business. Each episode focuses on a popular running route and includes coaching advice from a Fitness+ trainer. The episodes include tracks tailored to the intensity, location and coaching of each run. Each episode also includes images of the path travelled by the Fitness+ trainer. London, coached by Cory Wharton-Malcolm; Brooklyn, coached by Emily Fayette; and Miami Beach, coached by Sam Sanchez, are the first three episodes of Time to Run.

Every Monday, a new episode of the series will release. Time to Run becomes Time to Run or Push for Apple Watch users who use a wheelchair, and users get the option to start a “Outdoor Push Running Pace” activity. In a statement, Apple’s vice president of fitness technologies, Jay Blahnik, said, “At the start of a new year, we know many individuals are looking for new methods to go after their objectives.” “With these new additions, Fitness+ now has the most comprehensive collection of high-quality and diverse content to develop your mind and body, no matter where you are on your fitness journey.”

In addition to Collections and Time to Run, Apple is releasing the third season of Time to Walk, a series that encourages users to get more active by walking more frequently. In the third season, new guests will introduce every week. Hasan Minhaj, Chelsea Handler, Bernice A. King, and others are among the visitors. New workouts featuring music from Ed Sheeran, Pharrell Williams, Shakira, and the Beatles have been added to Fitness+’s Artist Spotlight series, which dedicates an entire workout playlist to one artist.

Cycling, dance, HIIT, strength, treadmill, and yoga are among the fitness options. Apple released Fitness+ on December 14, 2020, and has since competed with other subscription fitness services such as Peloton. Fitness+ offered as a separate subscription for $9.99 per month or as part of the $29.95 per month Apple One Premier plan, which includes Apple Music, Apple TV+, Apple Arcade, Apple News+, and iCloud+ with 2TB of storage.
